Project Description by Team: In the neighbourhood of Gösting, the common denominator among its inhabitants is the heavy dependence on private cars. An example is Wiener Str, which lacks a human scale and is dominated by car-centric structures. However, a transformative change is on the horizon with the construction of the new Transport Hub. Our proposal “From Vroom to Bloom” seeks to gradually reduce the dependency on individual cars while in parallel increasing the life on the streets through the implementation of three urban seeds. A change that is as needed as radical. This proposal not only focuses on the end result but also emphasizes the process, with the ultimate goal set for the year 2060. A constant improvement that will make Gösting urban spaces, parks and human relations bloom.

Jury Statement: "There's a great optimism for collectivity in this project. The big common space between the two existing buildings is seen interesting as it highlights another perspective in comparison to projects which suggest a puzzle of various public spaces.
The buildings framing the space are understood as independent entities, linked by the strategy of the communal, shared spaces which compensate the reduction of the public space by the amount of the buildings’ footprint. The jury, though, is concerned about the prospect of a satisfying implementation of “the ribbon of possibility” which is seen as a very fragile element due to its rather vague conceptualisation.[…]“
