Project Description by Team: Can the solution to Celje‘s problems be the continuation of the familiar urbanistic approach? We want to think differently: Instead of developing a supposed panacea, we perceive ground not as a commodity, but as a social relationship and collective common resource, rich in potential. We propose an adaptive system of social valorisation and enabling, which intends to terminate and prevent harmful processes to the ground in all its dimensions. Although future development in the sense of an actual urban development framework plan is not the intention of this project, it is by no means to be ruled out either - shifting from a top-down tabula rasa approach to a bottom-up catalyst strategy that sees potentials in temporary and local realities and allows for unimagined futures of the common good.

Jury Statement: "[...] The project is highly valued for conceptually rich statement and a strong claim for community. The jury agrees it’s not about the design but the idea of coming together and negotiating which can evolve into something valuable in the long term. General discussion about the meaning of urban gardening in this specific location arises due to some other more appropriate areas in the city. Still the idea is very much appreciated and is certainly understood as a principle of social gathering or social cohesion. The jury agrees that although the idea itself is very strong, the proposal itself is more of a claim and is not developed far enough."
